If you plan to stay in, check out some expert tips on how to make it a special night in with the kids! Fourth of July means lots of reds, whites and blues - what better way than to show your patriotism with this palette?! We’ve come up with some ideas and inspiration to help you get started in planning the perfect ‘Fourth’ in!
Fresh, vibrant flowers in summer and for July 4th seem to be a must! We have seen many trends utilizing flowers in centerpieces or as a beautiful backdrop. Red being a bold color (or a small flag!) will really ‘pop’ on whites or soft color palettes. To incorporate a natural look, touches of greenery can also compliment any piece. If you are looking for an outdoor picnic, a low potted plant with some floral buds or American flags will go perfect with your backyard vibe.
A handful of cost effective, popular and festive flowers that will enhance any tablescape are red roses, white or blue hydrangeas, white alstroemerias and white daisies, said Gerilyn Gianna Event and Floral Design. All are readily available at most local supermarkets.

We collaborated with Atlas Event Rental for a couple of fun 4th of July inspired tabletop looks that include checkered linen or napkins, stained glassware, white plates, rattan or wooden chargers and gold or silver flatware to set the perfect table. Another trend that is extremely popular and kid friendly that will be sure to enhance any party is by adding a snow cone, cotton candy or popcorn machine, said Atlas Event Rental.

Some fun ways to incorporate thematic or summer colors is to the food itself. A few creative ideas that we’ve seen trending to display on your table are fruit skewers, an American flag cake or flag cake rice krispies. We’ve also asked Laura Ashley Catering to create a few items with recipes that you can make at home with your family including a summer favorite Firecracker Mocktail and the Independence Waffle Sundae with fresh berries.
